Thomas Jefferson applauds the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions
In a very big statement against the recent Alien and Sedition acts, Thomas Jefferson calls the mystery author(s) of the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions as brave "as the members of the Continental Congresses" and carrying the "spirit of 76." This is among the many statements Jefferson has been making against the Alien and Sedition Acts and after the most recent poll showing that a majority of Americans trust Jefferson more than President Adams with protecting the freedoms of the people. Jefferson becomes the first politician to make a statement regarding the resolutions which call the Alien and Sedition Acts unconstitutional.

In his continued efforts to support good foreign relations, Thomas Jefferson congratulated the Spanish on the completion of the new Cabildo. He calls the Spanish excellent architects and states that in the future he hopes to have a "greater connection with New Orleans and the territory of Louisiana overall". Jefferson hopes to foster good relations and most importantly increasing trade with France and Britain.
